For a Brave New World: Eight

Writer's picture: Confidence OmenaiConfidence Omenai

Dogs of War

Sleep don’t come easy

Grief does

the weeping and gnashing of teeth

new horrors on every horizon

I rise to a red dawn

More of us are missing

Some of ours are dead

Seem like no one hears us

Until we speak in thunder

We will not whisper

For whiteness sake

We will rob you

Of the peace

We are not afforded

You better believe

Black lives mater

If you want us

To believe

That yours do

Stop barking

Before we bite

Leash your dogs

Or we

Will

Put

Them

Down
